The building was heavily renovated and received an Arabian Nights theme. However, there were a lot of issues with licensing and a casino was not opened on the property until Milton Prell bought the hotel in 1966. Initially, the Aladdin was only a hotel called the Tallyho, which tried to add a casino in 1963.
